Most people have never sat down and answered the question: what do I actually value? Not what they think they should value. Not what other people expect. What they — at their core — genuinely stand for.
Krystallos helps you answer that question. In your own words. At your own pace. For free.
Where Krystallos Came From
Krystallos was built from personal experience. The process was developed by Sue, a person in long-term recovery who needed a way to answer the question — what do I actually stand for? Andy brought the technology that turned that process into a tool anyone could use.
What the Humanistic Tree Is
The Humanistic Tree is the output of the Krystallos process — a personal values map that is uniquely yours.
It shows not just what you value, but how your values connect and define each other. Why you value what you value. What sits at the root of who you are, and what grows from it.
Like a real tree it has depth. The roots are your core values — the things that are non-negotiable for you. The branches show how those values connect to everything else. And like a real tree it grows with you over time.
How It Works
Krystallos guides you through a seven step process designed to surface what you genuinely value — not what you think you should value.
You begin with a word list and respond by instinct. No right answers. No analysis. Just gut-level honesty about what resonates and what doesn't.
From there you build your groups, define what each value means to you in your own language, and organize them into a hierarchy that reflects your own priorities. The result is your Humanistic Tree — a visual map of your values that belongs entirely to you.
The process takes between 20 and 40 minutes. It is entirely self-directed. And it is free.
What People Use It For
Krystallos was built for anyone asking the question — who am I, and what do I stand for? That question comes up in many different contexts.
People in recovery use it to rebuild a sense of identity that addiction eroded — and to reclaim values they thought they'd lost.
People navigating trauma use it as a roadmap back to themselves when everything feels unfamiliar.
People at crossroads — career changes, relationship transitions, major life decisions — use it to make choices that align with who they actually are rather than who they think they should be.
People who simply want to know themselves better use it because the question matters and most tools don't take it seriously enough.
Over 380 people have completed Krystallos to date. Kaleidoscope Axiom was a vendor at the 2017 World Congress of Positive Psychology. The work behind Krystallos has been recognized by leaders in the field of positive psychology.
Your Tree Is Yours
One of the most important things about the Humanistic Tree is that it doesn't tell you what to value. It helps you see what you already do.
There are no wrong answers in Krystallos. No values that are better or worse than others. The jail house values I carried for years with shame — loyalty, street wisdom, fierce self-reliance — are on my tree. And they belong there. They are part of who I am.
Whatever your history, whatever you've been through, whatever you've been told about who you are — your values are yours. Krystallos helps you see them clearly, claim them honestly, and build on them deliberately.
What People Are Saying
"I worked with Sue and Andy during COVID. I used it successfully in my own program, Transforming Relationships. It's been impressive to see how thoughtfully it has evolved. In today's world, where being clear about who we are and what we believe in matters more than ever, their work is not just valuable, it is genuinely unique. The latest version is much easier to complete, making the process even more accessible and impactful. I wholeheartedly endorse Sue and Andy, their elegant approach to a complex process, and the clarity their process brings. I continue to use this tool with my clients and consistently see its value in helping people reconnect with what truly matters to them."

"The app from Kaleidoscope Axiom is an extremely useful tool for self exploration. I found it easy to use and the results very interesting! I highly recommend it for anyone who is interested in understanding themselves more. I can see many applications for it — in depth self study with clients or sharing belief systems among family members, as examples."
